As you may have heard, a relatively famous musical performer passed away recently. All of the reactions to that death have been interesting to note, but it made me think if my own reaction to the death of Rich Mullins, whom I've always regarded as a personal hero.
Anyhoo, that got me wondering what you all like when it comes to music? Who are your favorites? Why?
Can't wait to find out!

I personally have a very diverse taste in music. It ranges from Bing Crosby and Michael Buble' to Skillet and Linkin Park. I would have to say as of now, my favorite singers are John McLaughlin, Jason Mraz, and Colbie Caillat. My favorite bands are Linkin Park, and Superchick.
I've got a fairly wide range of taste when it comes to music, too. Various classical composers, opera, Sinatra, Mullins, Bob Dylan, some Green Day. If I HAD to narrow things down to favorites it'd be:
Individual--Rich Mullins
Group--U2
Song--"Elijah" (original recording)
I probably have an unusual taste in music. I love the oldies and the classics from Bing Crosby and all of them. I love broadway musical stuff.
I also LOVE Linkin Park, Skillet, Superchick, and Anberlin.
And then there is the more laid back music such as: Michael Buble', The Beatles, Kristen Chenoweth, Jason Mraz.
And then there is Relient K, LifeHouse, TobyMac. I like a lot of music.
Skillet is my favorite band though.
I have pretty wide range myself.
My favorite singers are:
Jason Mraz
Taylor Swift
David Archuleta
Matt Meher
Joshua Blakesly
Natalie Grant
Favorite bands:
All American Rejects
Jonas Brothers
Plain White T's
Casting Crowns
Mercyme
Relient K
Leeland
Third Day
Switchfoot
I pretty sure that's it. I also have about 40 songs in Japanese that are theme songs for the anime series, but I'm not positive who the singers are. They're surprisingly good too!
Bowling For Soup
Green Day
Nickelback
Beatles
Aerosmith
They all rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm...I go through phases of what I like to listen to, ranging from Matt Maher & Lifehouse to DragonForce and Metallica. As far as favorites, I think I'd have to go with:
Bands - Bowling For Soup, DragonForce.
Individual singers - Cat Stevens, Bruce Springsteen
oops...i didn't say why!
DragonForce: the speed and style of guitar & keyboard playing is awe-inspiring and gets the blood pumping :)
Bowling For Soup: the lyrics are just hilariously awesome.
Cat Stevens: he makes some great soft rock and has an awesome life story.
Bruce Springsteen: he's up-beat, a good live performer, and, come on...he's the BOSS.
TOWER OF POWER ROCKS! If U listen to some of the solos (BTW this is a jazz band) these guys have to quadruple tounge to do some of the stuff. Not to mention super G's that are on ledger lines. It's really awsome. They're playing at the House of Blues I heard.
Relient K
All-American Rejects
Goo Goo Dolls
Matt Maher
The Fray
30 Seconds To Mars
Sanctus Real
Tenth Avenue North
Ludo
And very many more but thats the kind of music.
Sorry, I forgot to add:
~Lifehouse
~Switchfoot
~The Following (Steven Curtis Chapman's son's band)
~Linkin Park
